I'm a newbie. I'm buying a new copmuter and I basically want to save pictures and video, and I also want to download music and movies. Should I get vista or XP?? If I get vista do I need more than 1g of memory??

get xp. uses less resources so youll get better performance, especially if you only get 512mb or 1gb ram. it sounds like you dont need vista

ok for them kinds of tasks you can get a computer that is capable for not a lot of money if you are in the uk i can show you some places that are pretty cheap systems and i would deffo just reccomend xp i am still runnoing xp on all of my machines xcept the linux box
