Slow startup

Honestly i don't think there is much that can be done about the slower turn on with the DVI. All the demo computers at my work are hooked up to DVI monitors and they all take a while to come up (usually no video until windows just like you).

On those machines bios is configured like ace wants it, and they are all atleast a 7300 GT video card.

As for the extreamly slow XP boot, when did that start? you said it was taking a bit before changing monitors, but how long before that did it start?

DVI was rather a secondary display back then. It is probably normal that you see it like that. My advice is to uninstall and reinstall the drivers.

As for slow bootup, I'd uncheck unnecessary startup programs buy going at Start>Run>msconfig.

Well... it shouldnt have to do with the programs as it takes awhile to get to the Windows Xp Loading screen. I think the slow boot was after i reformatted....
