Never trust a guy saying to patch UXTREME.dll!

This little queer made me download a patch and decided to try since it would give you the Vista feeling, but I know what's really true:


The d*** file corrupted my themes manage and now I'm stuck with the ol' standard Windows classic. And, as usual, System restore's off


BTW, Vista is full of bugs...Just got a file to be looked t from MS

well i dont know if u have a typo or if u actually downloaded a uxtreme.dll patch but if your on about the patch so you can have 'unofficial' themes then its a uxtheme.dll patch ?

if its a typo then download the right 1 from soft32 but if u actually downloaded a uxtreme.dll patch then system restore and download the right thing

i downloaded the uxtheme.dll patch and it works fine

So is this meant to give XP a vista theme or something?

Most of them cause nothing but trouble, if you want a vista theme, then buy vista.

it allows you to use custom themes using the appearence tab in xp. you just run the ms style file and it will use the theme. ive done it before no problem. theres auto install ones or theres the manual ones. theres loads of sites. try soft32 like said above ^
