sound issues after format

Maybe try getting hold of an older version of the drivers, it could just be that the newest ones are buggy.

no, they are the same drivers i used before i formated. they haven't been updated for a while. its seemed to have stopped for now. lets hope it doesn't do it again.

Hmm, perhaps it isn't the sound drivers that are the problem.

Have you installed the latest chipset drivers? Make sure that they are WQHL certified. If your sound drivers are WHQL certified then i'd make sure that your chipset drivers are too.

They could be just as problematic for your sound as what the sound drivers themselves can be. Do this for other hardware drivers too. Graphics, networking, etc etc etc.
