Strange display problem: All Yellow / White Pixels

Hey guys,

I booted up my computer yesterday to find that the screen is bright yellow and white. There are no other colors!

I have no clue what the problem is and it's extremely hard to see what's being displayed on the screen.

I have a new Dell Desktop with an old GeForce 6800 256mb ultra in it which worked fine for about 3 months, up until now.

It isn't a problem with the monitor, because my PS 3, which is hooked up via HDMI displays correctly.

I tried fitting the video card in the slot tightly- it fit.

I also made sure that the extra power cable supplying the video card was attached securly and it seemed to be.

If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Try booting into safe mode, what happens then? If it seems ok (256 colours) then go into device manager and uninstall the graphics drivers and reboot, what happens then?

yes, the problem still occurs when booted in safe mode.

Any suggestions?

It seems your video card may be having problems. You can try contacting the card's manufacturer to see if it's still under warranty and get an RMA for it.

Do you have another video card you can try in it?
