Computer needs help!!!!!

My computer (a compaq C300) notebook has lost it's "system" so when it boots up, it gets to the screen with the windows XP logo on it then just resets itself. I have no recovery disks and have done half a million PC Recoverys. It says that it can't find "system". I'm not sure what that means so I need help badly.

EDIT: That's it it says "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\system32\config\SYSTEM
