i think ur computer doesnt turn on
or does it
because when u put a harddrive into another computer it doesnt work
so shouldnt it be the same for the mobo
because the mobo is the main part (*mother* board)
anyway yea i hope ur right and im wrong because im in the same situation here
getting a new mobo and processor for one of my old comps.
i think it just completely depends on which motherboard your upgrading from and to. coz i have done a few hard drive swaps which would be the same as replacing mobo and some work fine just need a few new drivers and some wont boot at all and some give a blue screen so my advice wud be back everything up just incase and cross your fingers you may be lucky
i c ur point m8 at work we r sensible for each diff motherboard we buy we make a new image just to be safe. but some motherboards you can get away with it as i said above i have had many different things happen when swapping a hard drive
