can anyone show me a diagram of where a sound thingy is on a motherboard, i have a dell optiplex 260, theres sound built in, but one day it just stopped working, i think i might of touch something on the motherboard to make it not work

I doubt you touched something to make it stop working, but typically wherever you plug your speakers into, that input slot for your speakers will lead you to where the sound device is located on your motherboard. I'm not very sure of this since you have an Optiplex, isn't usually an at home type of computer, though they are reliable, maybe more so than the Dimensions.

well there is something wrong with my sound, in the thing where it shows all ur present hardwares in the computer it says no sound, also the sound got replaced by a beeping sound, for example on aim when i im someone it beeps instead of regular sound

Are your sound drivers installed? Check in device manager, are there any yelow exclamation marks or red x's?
