I was saddened to here the news that former world cup winner Alan Ball passed way at the age of 61, he was the youngest member of the England football team that won the prestigious world cup in 1966.

Wow, you guys played Germany in 1945? That must have been quite a game seeing as how WW2 just ended and with the Battle for Britain and the V2s.

He was one of the true footballers none of the prima donnas we get these days, an inspiration to all.....

He was very well respected in the football community, a sort of silent hero. football has lost one of its fathers who can never be replaced amen.
