Nvidia 8600

^^ well said. Kchi has a point. they won't be as good as the 88's. there not inteded to be. They are out to help people who want good quality graphics that can't nessisarily afford the top of the line right now.

8600 is a cheap version of 8800, half the price and still 70%
8500 though is a budget direct x 10 card and is equal to the 7300GT

no they dont suck because I have an 8800, they suck because they cant even compete with dx9 cards. Go look at some benchmarks are reviews for the cards. They could have been an amazing card, I believe they were mainly crippled by their 128bit bus. Im sorry if my first comment sounded immature and little unfounded but it really wasnt.

I had planned on getting one until I was able to grab an 8800 as a deal price and now im glad I did.

Indeed, but you need to remember something: It's mid range gaming. I'd compare it to a 7600GT. The cores are really similar, but that's because it's like an improved version of a 7600GT. Comparing to an X1950 isn't a good comparison. You compare mid range with mid range.

Imagine a FX5200 to a X1950...seriously.
