Ram Slots

Well I am getting a new fan&heatsink for my e6600 and I noticed its going to block one of my ram slots.This is a picture of my mobo:

I have my ram installed in the both yellow slots. Do I just move them both into the red slots?

That would be the idea, it'd work out fine if it lets your heatsink fit, you COULD also put one in the yellow and one in the red slot, but you would lose the dual channel capabilities of your RAM.

Well he could just get a 2GB kit with 2x1GB sticks, as of now 4GB is still not necessary to run programs, even on Vista. But still I know where you're coming from, I mean, afterall, when you bought that mobo, you paid for 4 slots, not two.

i'm wondering the same thing. that board looks like there is plenty of room for just about any aftermarket cooler and standard height ram.

im getting the arctic freezer 7 and i just assumed it wasnt going to fit. is it?

it shouldn't block your RAM slots. As the Tuniq Tower doesn't and that thing is huge.

That cooler will be fine on your motherboard. It won't cover any of the memory slots. If you take a look at the four mounting holes on the motherboard, that's about how much area the heatsink will take up. It's more tall than wide.
