Dual channel Ram?

Well the new stick is generic, and my other is kingston value ram. nd I do some gaming, some video editing. Pretty heavy stuff I guess.

I always thought they had to be the same brand/speed etc to run in dual.

They are in dual now. I switched slots and I think its a bit faster now.

dont they have to be the same exact sticks(same company,same speed,same memeory size........)to be dual channel? generic and kingston wont give u dual channel

From what i understand they don't even need to be the same speed. The faster one will just clock down then go dual channel. Oblviously its still recomended to get to of the same if possible.

I'd like to see proof on that. I have yet to come acrose any DDR stick that was not capable of dual channel.
