Hey,

My dads a photographer and he nees a new comp to edit pictures and then burn them onto disk..

He will be doing a LOT so i tihnk a Dual Core would be the best option..

It needs to be able to run programs like photoshop ect quickly.

£600~ if someone points me in the direction of the parts i can build them...

Btw we would need a quick DVD/CD writer aswell...

Thanks

im assuming coz u said £600 its english like me so here goes

Processor

RAM
2 sets of these totalling 4Gb

Hardrive

its 50 quid over your budget but i wouldnt drop n e thing u dnt wonna lower the processor or the ram or the mobo so maybe skip the graphics card ??

well theres an outline n e ways maybe ppl wonna elaborate or correct some parts feel free ppl

I totally agree with ssc456 on those parts. I have the Conroe 6600 myself and I do alot of photoshopping and video-editing; I definately don't regret buying that CPU. Gave a massive boost from my old P4 2ghz.

ummm ??? was you lookin at the price includin vat coz the big bold price is without it ??? or maybe my math was wrong ?? dunno sorry

vat...? is that tax...? shipping maybe...? maybe the shipping and tax would push it over his budget...?

anyway, it was a good build and should be close enough to the budget...

I think thats one HELL of an overkill. I would think an E6400, 2GB Ram. Also, if you where going to be doing a lot of photoshop, i would reccomend RAID1 - You wouldnt want to loose your clients work. So, with that, i would reccomend:

Processor
A Good C2D Processor
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/112708 - £113.34 (saving £71.13)

Motherboard
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=121397 - £67.73

RAM
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=98710 - £119.98 (one of these, saving £119.98)

Hardrive (2 of these)
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=111515 - £62.30 (A Loss of £42.65)

DVD RW Drive (A Very Quick, Cheap & Good Quality DVD-RW Drive)
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/126228 - £20.85

Graphics Card
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...vd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=1250188 - £50.84

Case
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=105235 - £29.99

That would total Aprox £527.19, which is a saviing of about £125, vs ssc456's £650~ build. But, dont forget vista! (Well, personally, i would get XP 'till all the bugs etc are ironed out of vista....

yh depends on his budget m8 personally for the extra 125 whicxh u made the differnce to be i wud pick mine n e day better processor and extra 2Gb RAM he said a budget i filled in the rest
