Quick Question

Huh? What exactly do you mean? An ATX12V plug into an standard ATX motherboard connector?

Most newer PSUs have a 20+4 pin plug that will work with any 20 or 24 pin motherboard.

on newegg you can sort PSU's by different types two being ATX and another being ATX 12V i was wondering if they are different form factors?

Well, they are the same form factors, but the differences are as follows.

ATX12V all have 24 pin connectors, dual 12V rails, serial ATA connectors, and a minimum efficiency rating of 70% full power efficiency and a recommended rating of 80%.

They will work with ATX motherboards as they usually have a 20+4 pin connector, whereas ATX PSUs are only designed to work with the older systems.

yeah , if you are just building a system for web surfing , and general basic tasks like word processing then that psu would be fine
but for anything like gaming or vid editing /rendering i would use a decent psu so as you got a decent supply of power to all the components

i plan on building a mid-range gaming machine

those things wont drop in prices will they

The Rosewill PSU is a nice one. Good power on the 12V rails and I have been hearing good things about them lately.

I don't see the prices dropping much on those other items. Maybe an occasional free shipping promo maybe.
