yea im takin it to some kids house tonight to LAN hes gonna try to fix it, i checked everything over and over again, i had the compressor at a low setting, was far away, i doubt i did anything with that. still a lot of dust becuz i didnt want to break anything, and look wat happens :? ....

pc world used compressed air on mine when i took it in to be looked at and it hasnt worked right since as my soundcard is now listed as a wave out device instead of the original sb audigy they reformatted it and gave it a clean with the air thingy and when it came to putting it together again my sound was gone and that was after waiting 2-3 weeks for them to finally tell me my pc was ready to be collected and even then i had to pay a local pc repair guy £30 to fix the sound which turned out to be a conflict between my modem and the sound card.

So it actually has nothing to do with compressed air?

Right... so you took your machine to PC World to have it repaired.

My lappy went in for repairs today (not at PC World, thank God), don't want it to come back with child porn and bomb instructions on it.

hmm, I've used an air compressor before to blow off certain things, like the dust from a board if it's been sat on the side for ages, but you have to do it real carefully, with like soft busts of air...

anyway, that aside.

using compresed air, (whether it's from a can or a compressor) is never the best idea, ideally you should get a good mini (like the keyboard vacums) hoover).
dust is conductive. so if by blowing around in the case you've blow a fat chunk of dust onto something thre is a good chance that you may have broke it.

IMO it's almost impossible to clean a PSU by blowing air in the vents, so try testing this first, but then as suggested above just start testing things until you find out what it is that's broken.

proberly not. my mum blew my video card by shoving her vacuum all through my computer. idiot

~~~NEW
Ok i found out what it was, it was the motherboard. I got a new one, put it in and everytihng and now, a new problem. The computer will start up and go till the windows loading screen is on for like 2 seconds and then automatically restart. What now? Anyone know what i should do? I think the mobo just went it wasnt cause i blew it out.
Plzz HeLp! :-]
