The PS2 is far from dead. Although I have to say that the last great PS2 game was just recently released. There were several recent games that were for the PS2 only and they were absolutely great games. Bully, Okami & God of War 2.

The Xbox is pretty much dead. Don't expect any first-party games for it anymore, because Microsoft has completely shifted over to the Xbox 360.

I would rather save up for a Xbox 360 instead of having a great game marred by the original Xbox's inferior hardware.

Trust me, I still have the original Xbox. I'm saving up for my Xbox 360.
