Is there a way to plug my wired xbox 360 controller for windows into my original xbox that my friend just gave me?

Yeah, the original Xbox uses basically the same cords as USB, but with a different plug. You can easily splice the 360 wire and a regular controller cord together.

Like this, except you're splicing USB with the Xbox, not the Xbox with USB:

yea i made 2 xbox controllers into a pc gamepad already :) i like em

the first one was my prototype, where i used hockey tape (lol) to put the wires together, and the second one my dad helped me actually solder em in place

i still wanna be able to use it with windows tho, I dont want to do anything permanent to my controller.

yea u can still do it

what freestyler posted is not what u need

u gotta get one of those 6 inch xbox controller cables that plug into the xbox, and then splice it with a usb port at the circular end

No...I meant he could just splice the one he already has, and then buy one of those to replace it.

But that would work too.

Nope. I tried. I bought one of those Xbox controller port to USB adapters and tried it on my Xbox 360 pad and it doesn't work. The ring of light on the controller flashes once and it goes off. After that, nothing happens.
