Hey, do I need a special type of computer alcohol to get the default thermal paste on my heat sink off? Could I just use any household alcohol? Or is it really necessary or can I just scrape the bulk of it off?

Thanks.

if you use somethign like goo gone or goof off, you want to finish up with isypropol alcohol because goo gone and goof off, or somethign like WD40 will stay wet but alcohol will dry quickly so use alcohol thats the best and it takes old paste off really easily

right. thats why i said it wasn't the best. so like said above, use alcohol if possible.

Should just go to rite aid or cvs and buy a bottle of isypropol alcohol and it will solve your problems for your next prrobably 200+ changes.
