Unusable hard drive space (half of my hard drive missing) SOLVED

Here's my problem.
When I try to move files to my external hard drive, windows says the disk is full.
When I right click on the drive's icon and choose properties it says 51.8GB used and 62.5GB free.

I have searched Google to no avail, and I haven't been able to fix or even diagnose the problem myself. I can only tell you what it isn't: it isn't a partition problem and it isn't a fragment problem.

EDIT: I even tried copying the files with 3rd party programs, with xcopy, and with copy, but its a no-go

I'd make sure that the drive's jumper is not set to Capacity Limitation Jumper. It's something that blocks the drive to use up to 32GB. Your over and it's passed the 32GB space. I'd check that.

It is an external hard drive, so I don't know of any jumpers. The hard drive is maybe 2 yrs old.
I doubt its the 32G limit because I have 51.8G used space (I tallied it up myself)

In disk management:
Status - healthy
Capacity - 114.44GB
Free space - 62.58GB
% Free - 54%

Copying a small file works, but nothing over 7GB or so for some reason. The files I need to copy over are 7.2, 7.8, and 7.9GB
