Upgrading to run crysis

well right now im using a dell e520
2.8ghz pentium D
1gb ram----->upgrade to 2 gig
x1300 ati----->upgrade to 8800 gts 640mb or ati 1950x
windows xp---->upgeade to windows vista (when dell sends me my damn upgrade)
directx9----> dx10 with vista
EDIT:i have 305 watt powersupply i think is that enough to power one of those monster vid cards?

so i was wondering wich video card to chose...i dunno if i should go with nvidia or ati and also id like to know how well my pc will run crysis....hoppfully perfectly with these upgrades

Get the 8800GTS over the X1950, it supports DirectX 10, which will allow much more realistic graphics.

Other than that, it looks fine. The only thing you might want to consider upgrading is the CPU, the estimated minimum requirement is a single core 2.8 GHz.

thx for your opinion but also pentium D 2.8 is equivilent to 3.4 p4 i think....i wont worry about that

a P-D 2.8 is definitely not equal to a 3.4 P4. You're better off building a new computer. A 305 watt power supply will not bother those components, especially with the video card and processor.

and if money is an issue why dont you upgrade in stages? get a new powersupply first and then buy the 8800. you got plenty of time i dont belive crysis is out for a while yet? infact anyone know the release date? i got a feeling it was pushed back to Q4 2007
