booting hang up

well i formatted my computer like 4 days ago and ever since then, whenever i start my computer it freezes at the eMachines boot screen. its the screen where it says hit F2 for boot menu. now i waited it out but its obviously frozen. but when i restart it again, it goes past that screen like normal. no freezing at all.

what do you guys think the problem is?

well since its only 4 days after formatting the HD, i'd suspect hardware somewhere. Have you ran any diags?

how is he going to run diagonostics if it freezes? take out the hdd see if it freezes or goes to a promt that says "Operating System not found"

i wouldn't just unplug the hard drive. unplug all of the non-essentials so you only have CPU, RAM, PSU, and (if needed) video card. THen like rudster said boot up and see if it goes to "Non System Disk" or what ever error your particular board gives you.

if it does give you the error. start re-attaching parts. do one at a time and reboot untill you can nail down the problem.
