the only reason intel or amd dont come out with cpu's that fast is so they get money out of cpus with clocks lower than that. a hdtv "CPU"(really its just a gpu) is 10ghz

also to make a 1000 C2D's it costs intel about 460$ that shows you how much the research part of it costs
