I am stuck deciding two monitors. Here are the two:

Hanns·G HW-191DPB

Hanns·G JW-199DPB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16824254001

Of course the HW-191DPB cost $10 more, but the JW-199DPB is not Window Vista certified. Saving $10 can be a great deal for me.

My questions are:

1. Why is a monitor being certified for Vista or not?

2. What is good with DVI?

3. One has a display color of 16.7 million compared to another which has display color of 16.2 million. Is the more the better? Or the less the better? Which is better?

4. Recommend me which one you rather choose and tell me your reasons.

5. You know any better and cheaper monitor somewhere else?

The monitors are alike, exept that the framing is different at the base of these two and that the 191DPB is actually displaying 16.2 million colors, while the other displays 16.7

1.Microsoft certifies that these monitors will work on Vista...but IMO, that's just a joke. Waste of time.

2. DVI allows better display, a higher resolution to be done than VGA.

3.There really isn't a lot of differences.

4.To me, save your money. Get the 199DPB. It will work with Vista.

5. For that type of monitor, I'd say you're good with this price.

1. I think that's just a gimmick, don't worry about it.

2. DVI has noticeably better image quality.

3. More is better, it just has a wider range of colors that it can display.

4. If you really want to save the $10, then just get the cheaper one.

actually both of those are vista "certified".
the cheaper one actually has .5 million more colors. Not a big difference.
I think the more expensive one is for mounting somewhere.
Get the cheaper one.

HW-191DPB 10 dollars more but in the long run you'll be glad you got it if its that important to you that its certified. You may regret it later if you don't

Thanks everyone. I decided to go for the cheaper one. Just by the configuration, it should be able to handle Vista all good. Saving $10 is good for me too.
