Windows XP Home and Ubuntu Linux

It will do it automatically when you install your Oses, there are plenty of tutorials online for this.

This is if you install windows first and Ubuntu second.

yes it is quite easy to add an entry for windows in Linux's GRUB bootloader. the location of grub is in /boot/grub and i think you click on the menu file or something like that to edit the bootloader.
 
juss make a new partition in the primary and then wen yuo restart.. it will ask you what to boot to every time
