Rep colors?

I'm not to fond of the rep thing. But i was curious what the grey colored one meant. I got like 3 red from that Picasso thread but whatever, no biggie.

Right above where it shows your latest rep in the User CP, to the right of the words "Latest Reputation Received", in light gray text it says "___ points total".
