Hi everyone, I'm looking for a browser with all of the following capabilities:

NOT prone to spyware (like IE is)
Loads VERY quickly
Not resource intensive
Doesn't save history/cookies/etc upon closing (just a waste of resources)
Can load images easily
Can do things like facebook, etc

Firefox does almost all of this, but I've found that even it is slow on my computer. I know my computer is REALLY old but I think some of firefox's new features make it a bit slower on old old computers -- i'm just looking for a barebones browser here that will still be able to open popular sites without needing to install a plugin every 2 seconds

Thanks

Well you have 3 choices....IE, Firefox or Opera...the speed the pages load at won't vary much, if at all between the 3, speed is depended on your internet connection...as for resources, I would say IE uses the least of the lot, but can't guarantee that

Well i'm definitely not going with IE... i just cant afford the spyware risk - im using firefox right now and its just surprisingly bulky... ill try opera now i guess

IE has it's bugs, so does Firefox and Opera...Unless you are constantly on porn/free download/torrents all the time and don't do regular spyware scans THEN I would worry about it, but for the end user all should be fine options in the safety department, although Firefox has been proven the safest..

Im an Opera kinda guy :) used Firefox and didnt like it much, IE is ok i only use it for Hotmail as it doesnt like Opera lol.

Matty- thats the thing, all im ever on is torrent sites, and sometimes i gotta go through questionable sites to get the right file... perhaps i can use IE for regular browsing and firefox for safe browsing

Sorry about my post before if i came across a bit touchy, was a bit frustrated with something else lol....As long as you have good Anti-Virus software and a good firewall the browser is the lesser of importance.

i use ie 6 alot. mainly because its the only browser that i can use at school. my pc is perfectly fine. as long as you have a decent firewall and antivirus and do spyware checks and stuff regularly you should be fine
