What do you mean by flickers? Does it do it constantly? Over the whole screen? and how badly...it could well be that the monitor is dying, but also could be a loose connection or even a bad graphics card.

are you're vga cables plugged in properly? maybe a dodgie lead? tryed re-seating you're graphics card?

thanks for the suggestions, I took the card out and reseated it, then I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and got a message to download the "unsigned" driver and install that instead...

it worked...
