Hard Drive Overheating?

I have just built a new computer and have already loaded OS and Drivers.

The problem that I am having is during downloads or having multiple screens open, when my WD Raptor hard drive begins to make more rpm, It randomly stops making noise(which, from my knowledge, is turning off), then about 2 minutes later it turns back on.

During this time, all the loads and files on the computer stop working, but my mouse clicks are still registered

Does this look like an overheating issue?

Have you checked for a loose connection?

Yes, couldnt find loose connection

Something tells me you have a loose connection or your PSU wires tend to short. I have a PSU doing that.

do certain PSUs have a tendancy to short? If so, mine is Thermaltake ToughPower 700w

Its strange, Physical Memory Usage doesnt change during the time, and my CPU usage is between 0 and 5%, So it looks like only problem is Hard Drive

Does the HDD dissapear from windows explorer when the problem happens?
