Did i do the right thing?, tell me i did the right thing!

To tell the truth, windows vista is something like a glass airplane,Sure its pretty, but its absolutly useless when you try to do anything with it.

This might change as programers create more vista specific programs, but right now its no better than Xp

Plus all this hype of "better security" is just steam.Microsofts new idea of security is constant pop ups.I cant run and install a program without getting atleast three popups. And heaven forbid you want to Download something

In my honest opinion(im not trying to start a war here) spend all that money on mac os x, and a mac machine.Vista basically just coppied everything os x has and put out a version of it thats just a little worse. Also, macs dont need to be upgraded for hundreds of dollars. The 600 dollar mac mini runs everything that os x can produce, and much , much more.

vista sucks. well, it will probably need to get better because all the noob comp ppl will start realizing that visat just looks good and find out how much more important performance is then looks(my point of view), and then microsft will go make a service pack 1 and then that wont really do much, and then they will make a service pack 2 with a extra program to ask u to confirm evrythuing freakin thing u do. but im not stoppin u. and im not a mac lover. they have great security but it sucks. nothing works with it...
1 gig of ram isnt gonna really get u anywere with vista. vista is like a cannonball tied with a chain to the foot of ur ram....
except, ten times bigger probably. if i ever get vista for free, i would get it sure, but i would make sure the looks are to a minaimum to keep performance up and-wateva. xp 4eva....no not really.

Have you ever actually used Vista for more than a few minutes?? Everyone makes it out to be this huge resource hog, but most computers bought within the last couple years will most likely run it just fine.

1 GB of RAM is plenty for Vista for the average user. At idle on the desktop, it uses just over 512 MB (I have the RTM installed, x86 version currently). Most people will then open up their E-mail and Internet Explorer, and maybe a word processor. Nothing too intense there, and 1 GB of RAM (which costs just over $100 now) will more than suffice for it. I'm not saying it doesn't use a lot of RAM, because it does. I'm just saying that for the average user, it really shouldn't be a problem.

I'm just getting sick of people bashing Vista when they haven't even fully experienced it yet. I'm not looking at anyone directly, but I've read through a few posts of people saying how crappy Vista is, and I could tell they've never even seen it in use.

Overall, I think it's a good OS. Yes, some minor improvements are necessary, but it is pretty good for being just release IMHO. XP had at least just as many problems when it came out, if not many more. I guess everyone just over-hyped it, and thought it was going to be perfect the day it came out.

freestyler105 one of my recent posts is downgrading vista.True, most of the bugs are yet to be worked out, but the statement that most of us haven't used it for more than a few minuets is false.Im running it right now and have been for some time, and i stand by what i have said.

Have you ever used a mac?
almost everything important is compatible(aka Microsoft word/office) and everything else that isnt specifically designed to work on both systems, some software developer out there made a tool for mac os x that does the same thing.

Basically the only things that dont run on macs are the virus programs, and your gay porn downloaders.
