Newly Built PC fails to boot

Check your graphics card, reseat it. Also check the power connectors that connect to it. Not sure if your mobo has onboard graphics, but if it does, then connect your monitor to that and then disable the onboard graphics in the BIOS, then reconnect to your card and restart

A good mate of mine has taken the graphics and RAM to test in his system. Its nearly idential to mine apart from HDD and CPU.
he says the RAM is fine and is just going to test the graphics card now!
Ill let you all know what happens.

Cheers,

He says the graphics are fine as well...Hmmmm.

Does this mean it could be a dodgy motherboard?

Try resetting the BIOS. Pop the battery out for about 5 minutes, and try to boot again. I can't tell you how many times this has worked with a new mainboard for me. Worth a try.

Not aware of any on board graphics myself.

I'll try the Bios battery though and see what happens. I tried clearing the CMOS and that didn't help.

Cheers

Are you able to get in the bios? If you can, then raise vdimm voltage. One issue that Core 2 Duo mobos have is that ram voltage is always set lower than what the ram is rated for.

Nope, can't even get into the Bios. I can't see anything on the screen.

That mate of mine is coming over tonight to re-seat the CPU ( I dont have any thermal paste).
I'll let you all know what happens.

Cheers
