msconfig doesn't work

Try running chkdsk /r if that doesnt work then try a system file check, type sfc /scannow. You need your xp disc to do this.
 
wat is ur windows, like pro or home or vista maybe? i heard that home edition has locked features that are in pro... but im not sure they would cut out msconfig... its such an important program. try gpedit.msc if u have pro

Why would group policy do anything, when its not on a domain????

I can verify that there is msconfig in Home Edition. I'm using it.
