Game Creation Soft.

I recently have been using Darkbasic which is a game design software and I was wondering if there were any other game creation programs that are good to look into. Also which DarkBasic is better, I use the original but Lite and Pro are better, which would you suggest?

I started using Darkbasic when it came out. I could never get used to it though. I read the manual, and looked on the website to find you could create a lot of code from it, that I couldn't even think out.
The best I got out of it was simple A.I type programs.

Pro is better, and I'm guessing Lite would be a simple version of Pro.

I don't know of any others I'm afraid.
