New build $750 max

superman, can you list out the specs here so i can look them over and see if anything can be changed for better performance and same price?

Well, he said he may upgrade in the future to an lcd screen, but not right with this build. The Specs? Well, I'm not too sure yet. Heres an idea,
core 2 duo 1.86ghz-$180
mobo?
ddr2 667 1gb kingston Ram- $70
250gb Hd - $75?
7600gt or equal-$110
Vista Home premium OEM- $120
basic case and power supply. Can pick that later. Thats basically it. Those are estimate prices. Somethig around that would be good, no more than $800 for the PC without a monitor.

This mobo seems pretty good. i've seen it used before and have not seen any problems with it http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813127235 $109.99

Found a perp drive for you, 250Gig, Sata 2 at $75 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822148142

7600 gt at $110 by EVGA (my brand of choice) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130062

470 watt powersupply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153027 $65

assuming your RAM price is right (i currently don't have the time tonigh to do any more looknig for you unfortunatly), you are at $730 before shipping and case.

Edit-
Whoops my bad, I was still reading off another page and replied to that instead of the last post :p

AW8D is not compatible with C2D, ASUS P5B is a good board to get or P5B-E. Thermaltake's power supplies are junk below 700W. Get an Ultra X-pro 600W power supply. Good for the money.

i did prove the facts in mine with a link. i belive were still waiting for you to prove yours.

like you told me in a different thread, "Read the entire post". and i honestly don't see how my post was being an "ass" as you say it. i corrected you with proof and asked you to look things up next time.

Like I told you, I got mine from OfficeMax, as i work right next to them and often go in to check out hard drives and printers and other various office materials. One of the biggest things going on at OfficeMax is advertisment for Windows Vista. In which they showed roughly 3 versions of the OS. Which I just told you about in my last post.

As for you being an ass, the tone in which the text was read suggested it. Now whether or not that is true, it came across as a smartass type of reply. I just hate when people have to give me lip about things, nothing against you personally, just, irritation on my part.

Aside from that and with the hopes of moving on...

I'd honestly wait awhile until the E4300 moves down in price...save up more money that way and get better parts while balancing it all out to be roughly the same cost, save a penny here but spend a penny here, if you understand what I'm saying. All in all you've got some fairly strong suggestions on a build for roughly $750. Just tweak it to how you want it and go from there. :)

officemax may have it at that price, but some stores have cheaper prices. It's all about competition.

oops. my bad. i'm about to leave for school, so if some1 else can get him a link to a good one, that would be awsome.

Officemax sells the retail, I want the OEM. Your facts are right they just are different versions.
Anyway, I dont know how soon he wants this computer, I think he might not build til March but he just wanted an idea of the price and capabilities.

tell him to wait till April ;) ATi RV630 and RV610 i believe are coming out. 65nm chips by the way ;)
