This one computer I have seems to be freezing at random points while I work on it. Sometimes it will freeze at the Windows loading page, other times it will let me log in but freeze once I start working. It just seems completely random, but it's happening very often now. Any thoughts as to what might be the problem?

if you can, get into safemode and do a virus scan as well as a anti-spyware scan.

if those come up clean, i would reinstall any drivers you can.

if this does not fix it, then odds are its hardware. My primary guess would be hard-drive, but i have seen RAM and failing Motherboards do this as well.

[edit] to eliminate the OS from the problem causer as well as the hard drive, you can run a memtest. that'll test your ram for you and either give errors, or freeze if somethign is wrong.

download the program from here: http://www.memtest86.com/

then burn the image to a cd. keeping the CD in the drive, restart your computer and boot off the cd. The program will run as long as you let it. Some people say run it for atleast 3 hours, but my preferance is atleast 8.
