We were on holiday in Wiltshire, England, & these "Tankbusters" as they are known, used to fly by at about 300 feet, you could not hear yourself speak!!, these are the ones that tried to bomb the deep caves where Bin Laden was supposed to be hiding, aren't they?, impressive looking, what's the power of those engines?, I do know their armanent includes a 7 barreled Gatling gun that has a rate of fire of 3,000 rounds/minute, 2 sidewinders, & cluster bombs, they can carry an awesome 16,000 lbs of external ordinance!, wow!!, what did surprise me was that their speed was only around 500 mph.

Yeah, the A-10 is pretty sick. It flies at subsonic speeds, which is why it's so durable. The pilot sits in a "tub" of titanium and the plane can literally have an engine shot off, a tail wing shot off or 2/3 of a wing and still manage to fly. Another cool thing is that since the landing gear dont retract all the way, the wheels protrude from the fuselage a bit. So if an emergency landing is needed, the plane can still land, but the plane will be nearly touching the ground.

Here's some recent proof of the A-10's durability.

The GAU-8/A Avenger Gatling gun is SICK. That thing is so awesome...fires about 3,900 rounds a minute and the depleted uranium AP shells have such mass and high velocity that it can destroy most heavily armored tanks in as few as 6 direct hits. Yummy. :)

The hovercraft was invented by an Engishman, Christopher Cockerill, they are the quickest way for me to cross to the English mainland from my home on the Isle of Wight, about 15 minutes.

thats awesome I wish I got to ride a hovercraft into the city lol :) the closest I've been to riding in a hovercraft is a catameran(sp?), the one I rode in was like a ferry it held tons of cars and people, I even got to bo in the bridge, the ships wheel was no bidder than a mouse lol! It was just a little wheel probably 4 inches in diameter that steered the whole ship!

Thats it \/

Yeah, but UH-60.. I prefer the MH-60 models. (just upgraded versions of the UH-60, like M134 instead of the M240 and lots of new electronics etc)

And about the avenger, yes it's absolutely devastating. Though the A-10 still isn't anything compared to F-22. :p

I love any of the UH-60 Black Hawk variants. They're all sick. :D

As for the A-10 vs F-22, they're both different. I love both, but they have each of their own pros and cons. Another apples vs. oranges comparison.

Yeah all of the blackhawks are nice. Seen the vid about m240 vs m134? Lets just say that the m134 owns :D

And yeah, the A-10 and F-22 are very different, but the F-22 is overall just so great. Air supeority, dogfighting, bombing both bunkers and vehicles, it can do it all. The A-10 is great for close air support and bombing but pretty much lacks anti-air capabilities.

The A-10 was designed for close air support and ground attacks only. It carries a few anti-air missles for the sake of some self-defense, but it's designed as a tank/bunker buster. The F-22 is more like the trade of all jacks. It can do almost everything, but it's not specialized towards a specific category.

true. But the way I see it multirole fighters are the way of the future. There hasn't been any "pure" fighters in a long time. And I can't think of many recently made small size bombers either. The F-117 would be one but I can't think of any other ones right now. Multirole is just more cost effecient. Though the planes might be more expensive you have 1 that you can use for almost anything. No need to have a few fighters escorting a bomber when you can just bomb with the fighters. And they can be used even if the enemy airforce is still active since they are very capable of destroying enemy aircraft.

I really love it how someone put the F-22's superior air combat ability into 1 sentece. "When you notice the F-22 it's already too late for you" or something like that. It can take out pretty much any aircraft without even the other aircraft noticing it's there. (due to good stealth and radar systems that allow you to fire a missile way before you can even see the target with your eyes)
