I had my friend help me pick out a power supply and as I go to order it I find that It has been discontinued. Just my luck. lol. Anyway, I was hoping that someone could help me find a good one for my computer. I getting an

ASUS P5B Mobo and a
GeForce 8800GTS

I read that With that Video card that I need to get a power supply that has atleast 500w or 550w, with a minimum combined 12v output of 26A. Thats all I know about PSU and I could use some help finding the right type and one that is good quality. The first one was about $50 so somewhere in that price range would be great.

$50, you will be lucky :) Anything you get for that price will be complete tat, i would rethink your price range :)

Doesn't the GTS only need 450? but either way your looking about about $60 and up.

Could anyone help me find a good one? I dont know much about PSUs or which brands are good.

Only the Thermaltake Toughpower is good. Their other ones are crap. Antec isn't as good as it used to be. Lots of crap powersupplies coming out from them. OCZ....don't know what to say about them as they had reliability issues and ripple issues with each of their different OEMs. I would only get the OCZ EvoStream 700W/600W powersupply based on the OEM 3Y which manufacturers 1U and 2U redundant powersupplies. Enermax, i can say is you can do better for the money. Now after 'bashing' all those companies, you're probably wondering what i recommend.

I recommend getting http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817182016 for sub 50 dollar budget. Now for those that know me on this forum, don't go running around screaming "OMG OMG OMG OMG OWNAGE RECOMMENDED A ROSEWILL POWERSUPPLY OMG OMG OMG OMG" but wait till you read the review posted by someone who can review psus correctly, jonnyguru. http://www.jonnyguru.com/review_details.php?id=48
But a little better one, is the Ultra X-pro Review here: http://www.jonnyguru.com/review_details.php?id=45
Its better than the Rosewill powersupply.
