ok my friend has a AMD 3500+ Manchester processor, Asus A8ne-deluxe sli, and a pci-express X800 card..

Is it better than the specs in my sig with the same memory and hdd, and should I buy it for like $200-$300??

id say just build a new system
intel core 2 duo 6400
cheep case
nvidia 680i mother bord
1 gig ram
7600 or higher graphics card

that proc is way better than yours. dunno of you should get it tho, id make a new one

It's not really that much better...

They're about the same (besides the processors). I wouldn't get it. Spend it on upgrading your current system or save up for a new one.

he said $320, what can I get for that price, I need Ram, mobo, processor, and video card, (that is what he is giving me), I have everything else like case psu and hdd.

How fast is your processor? like when windows loads are all of your programs instantly loaded??

No, the difference will really be minuscule in loading times. You may notice a slight decrease in time, but nothing worth that much money.

You're making a new build, and you already have those parts, correct? Save up a little bit more money and buy this:

Yeah, it's not the same price, but it's performance will destroy your friend's computer. If you need to save some of that money, keep your current video card for now until you can save up some more money. Eventually, you'll probably want to upgrade to 2 GB of RAM as well, and a better graphics card. If you're really tight on cash, get an E6300 processor:

It'll still own your friend's computer, but still try to get the 6400. If you can't afford that, and you just want a new PC, then sure, buy his. But if you actually want a great performance boost, get the above.

i think what im going to do is buy his crap and then in like a year im doing a whole new complete build from case to fans. DX10, going all out, right now i dont really have that much money and this was just a great deal i couldn't pass up.

Hmm...unless you really need a second computer, I wouldn't do it, but it's your choice.

If you want him to lower his price, though, tell him you can get it all new on newegg for only $365:
Processor ($90)

Memory ($75)

Video Card ($60)

Motherboard ($140)
