Formating and installing vista

i have a question, I am planning on getting Vista Home premium soon, and currently I have RC1, so if I buy Premium, and I was planning on buying an 80gb sata 2, if I install on the 80gb, and just delete RC1 instead of formating my old drive will things speed up?

what you mean just "delete it" lol

formatting would delete it

No , I mean just RC1, using disk cleanup, usually that gives you the option to delete old windows.
