I don't necessarily agree with that, but for right now, unless you want to completely revamp your entire system (new graphics, RAM, CPU, motherboard) you might want to keep AMD for a while.

This motherboard has AGP, DDR, DDR2, and Core 2 Duo support, but I've never heard of the manufacturer:

Note that it's MicroATX though.

I would just upgrade to something like an X2 4800+ for now:

Also, you might want to upgrade to a PCI Express video card, this card is the best price vs. performance value:

The AGP board is shaky. It's sopmetimes having troubles with the Core 2 Duo E6600, E6700, and up. It's also taking DDRII-533. The P4M800 isn't a great chipset for high end stuff. Not even the P4M890 or P4M800Pro.

If it was S478, that would have been okay. I was close to buy one ECS S478, but ASUS emailed me the day I was going to get it.

It may work without doing anything, i have an ABIT Kn8 and i just slapped it in reset the BIOS and i was up and running,

but let me give you this suggestion, if you dont want to play around with overclocking and BIOS and spend time with it,

Just get the 4600+,4800+ FX60.....

those you can set it and forget it. but you will pay for it.
