need help installing dvd-drive

so one of my dad's employees gave him a nice lg dvd burner and when i got it all plugged in and started windows and for some reason my computer doesn't recognize that anything is there. It won't recognize my old dvd drive that's been in my comp over a year either. But if i take the new drive out it recognizes the old one. HELP PLEASE!

Make sure you have the jumpers set right. Only want 1 master. Or do cable select if you can.
