Do you need separate drivers for these once you've reformatted or is the knowledge inbuilt?

Its usually included with your motherboard drivers.

yes you do need drivers separate drivers for the sound, but they should come on the mobo cd. If they don't, then go to the mobo manyfacturers website and download them from there.

Problem i have is that, it's a friend of mines computer and he has no clue as to where the drivers are and he dosn't know the name of it and only way i know is too personally look at the motherboard myself.

Is there a way to view on computer system and i can walk him through finding it? Damn not having a car

Also we have tried the pause button on starup page but apprently it dosn't work.
I'm gunna have to go round there myself arn't i!

ummm find out what motherboard he has

use cpu-z to find the mobo model.
