1. what is bootvis?

and to make windows startup faster, you go start > run > msconfig > startup tab > uncheck the stuff u dont want > apply > ok > restart

i done all that and with the services (still have over 35 processes running).

bootvis is supposedly supposed to make your pc start faster, during boot, and returning from standby/hibernate.

1. How to Run Check disk in windows XP (by LambofGod)

Go to start, run, type “cmd”, make sure you are on your root drive (usually C:\), type “chkdsk /f”, type “Y” .

Then restart your system

*if you are not on your root drive type “cd C:\ “ assuming C:\ = your root drive*

3. How to defrag a harddrive in windows XP (by LambOfGod)

Go to start, programs, accessories, system tools, disk defragmentor.

Select the drive you want to defrag and press “defrag”

(this may take a while)

Defraging once a day is overkill.

i would try it again get the exact error message and google it, or post it up here.
