printer problem!!

i just tried to turn on my printer. (HP PSC 1510) the lights come on but it never even starts up . any ideas how to fix

is the power cable in tight
plus please elaboraate more on the problem could be an error are the cartridges in there and are they full

the power cable is in tight and i just got cartridges 1 week ago and i dont print very often. it is just about to start but it then cuts off and tries again

could be a firmware error dunno about firmware on hp printers
also try plugging it into a diff wall socket

that sucks when something like that happens, seems like printers always seem to have issues only when you need them for something important doesn't it?
