New Computer, Monitor/DVD-Rom Problem

I dont have the chance to test my video card yet but im gonna to try to soon on my friends computer. Is my video card most likely the problem?

i cant say for sure. i had a similar problem and it turned out to be the motherboard.

could be an input selection on ur monitor, in the menu

I know its not the motherboard because my friend used the computer with his monitor and video card and it worked

you say you connected the vga to the back port,than it must have onboard video,why buy a video card,did you set it up and install the drivers.?

ok, I replaced the graphics card and the computer is still not working. Since my friend had my computer working with his video card and his monitor is my monitor most likely the problem?
