well hes 16, turning 17 soon and he likes this 14 year old girl, he wants to know if it would be alright for him to get together with her. hes thinking ppl might think its perverted and whatnot. so post some opinions. and NO, this person isnt me because im 13

Well, it depends. If he likes her, then I suppose thats cool, because its 2-3 years. If they were to have a sexual relationship, he could be sued though, because she is under 16. As long as they don't have sex, it would be ok.

True, but to my knowledge, I don't think we have that type of troubles in Canada. Not entirely sure.

If a 16 year old guy, or older, has sex with a girl here, if she is under 16, even with her consent, even written, the guy can get sued, it's classed as rape.

I think what John is asking is different though. The nearly 17 year old guy, likes this 14 year old, and from what john told me on AIM, he wants to be with her, is this wrong? Perverted? Etc..
