Google own you tube, I wouldn't be surprised if the court order was extended to google in general, and as such covered google video as well.I'm sure it'll resurface on other sites like Google Videos or MSN Soapbox
It matters to Brazil because it's regarding the privacy of one of their famous people/exports.why does it matter to Brazil in the first place???
it's the same as american courts put preassure on russian MP3 sites not to stock their artists...
she's a super model, people pay to see her picture. youtube are giving her assets away for free.
Ahh yes, the great(fire)wall of china...why don't they just censor stuff like mainland China or something?
it's not really practical, to set up something like that for the privacy of one person, it's probably easier (and cheaper) to just harass one company...
It's called intelectual property, image ownership, copyright etc...Since when can a judge from another country tell a website thats based in America(?) what to put on there site?
even if you take a photo you don't necessarily own that photo...
say you take a photo of a celebrity doing something bad.
you can sell that photo to a trash magazine and get some money.
even if the trash magazine payed you loads of money for that picture, the person who the picture is of can still go to court and get an injunction against the picture being published.
do you assume that if I have a web server in britain that i can host anything that I like on it?
if I had picture of your mum naked on it, you'd soon be going to the courts asking for it to be removed, and (rightly so), I'd be served with a takedown notice regardless of whether that came from the American or British courts.
