I've had my computer for about 8 months now, and it's time to upgrade. My current specs are:

Chaintech MK8T890 Skt. 754 w/ PCI-Express X16
Chaintech SE66LE nVidia GeForce 6600LE 256mb.
1GB (2x 512mb. 184pin) Samsung RAM
Maxtor 160GB SATA Hard Drive
Lite-On DVD+-RW
Powmax Mercedes Benz Mid-Tower ATX Case

What I'm looking at is:

the reason im getting a new keyboard and mouse is because my old ones were wireless and would get laggy from time to time, so im spoiling myself with newer more expensive ones. if any of you see a better value that i can get please let me know. Im keeping my ram, hard drive and cd drive because they work perfectly fine and the do what i need for them to do.

Yeah i second that. Also, is there any reason why ya not going for a core 2 duo? Better value IMO

im against intel lol they also dont have 64-bit and i run 64-bit linux on the side, and i just like AMD better but ill find another mobo for my ram because i dont wanna buy more ram

Then you will have to go with socket 939

All Socket AM2 uses DDR2

Also get the 7600GT not the GS, the GT is better and cheaper.

I have a core 2 duo and I am also running 64bit vista RC1. So yeah, it supports 64bit. I just got a 7900gs off ebay for $150. They might even be cheaper now. Mine is the asus version too so its fast. But what might really be good would be to get a card that can run most games at low and some at middle. Than save some cash. And keep saving, than when the 8600GT comes out get that. That is, if you plan to get DX10. Just an idea. Otherwise, the & series might drop considerably when the Mid-low 8 series comes out.
