the gmail wont work, this is what it says, try your .edu account

Gmail only allows up to 10mb messages. You said the file was only 9mb, but more encodings for a bigger file could push it above- "When you add an attachment, the size of a file may increase because transport encodings are automatically added. (Transport encodings are the information that allows your message to be safely sent and read.)"

Try putfile or someone's website.

yea i checked the size and like you said alex, thats what happened the actual size is 9mb, but when attached its 12mb
