I'd say since you're on a budget go with an AMD athlon X2, 2GB RAM and SLI. That should be more then plenty to play most games.
 
So what do you think of these specs? It hits right at my price level, and seems to carry all I need. I can do a ram upgrade to 2 gigs a little down the line also.

that new build looks good to me. The SLI will definitely be good for gaming as well.
