Is this normal?

On the dell LCD display, in DVI-D mode there are streaks of violet (sometimes red) and some green colored lines when it's in the blue backgound. It goes away when the background is black. I was worried and I removed any magnetics far away but it still does it.

Is this normal for LCDs or do I have a defective product?

Please Note: this is all in the setup. There is no OS on the PC yet so I don't know what will happen when there is one installed.

No, streaks are not normal. Something is up with either your monitor or your video card.

if by install the card, you mean the video drivers, no. if its in the bios setup, then there should be no driver conflict, or driver issue to cause this.

does it do this if vga mode (if supported by the moniter) and have you tried a different moniter connected to your comptuer?
